A relatively young city,  Cancun was created with tourism in mind and as a result, most of its resorts and hotels are new and luxurious. 

Cancun's beaches are the best in Mexico as they share the waters of the Caribbean.    Staying in a resort in the city is less expensive than staying close to the beach in the 'hotel zone'. 

Eating out and transportation in the city is also less expensive than the 'hotel zone'.  In Cancun there are numerous tours to experience - certainly the best choice would be to visit Chichenitza where you can admire the "Pyramids of the Mayas". 

A fantastic scuba, snorkelling or water sports destination; or simply a place to relax and recharge, Cancun is the Mexican Caribbean.
