Puerto Vallarta has come a long way from its fishing village roots.  It now plays host to amazing, luxury resorts and caters wonderfully to the needs of the tourist (tourism is its only industry).  The flame of its appeal was fanned by the film "The Night of the Iguana" with Richard burton & Elizabeth Taylor.

Vallarta has terrific weather year-round and is a true bi-lingual city (English and Spanish). Full of bougainvilleas, cobbled stone streets and red tiled roofs. Vallarta offers a very Mexican atmosphere.

Puerto Vallarta is a gastronomic's delight as its superb restaurants and bistros provide both traditional and international cuisine.  While its nightspots cater to the partyseeker, Puerto Vallarta is an exciting eco-tourist destination. 

The "Bahia de Banderas" (Bay of Flags) is a breeding ground for such aquatic mammals as humpback, grey and bride whales; giant Manta Rays and dolphins.  There are no sharks as the adult dolphins protect the entrance of the bay (and their young which are born here all year round).  Divers should check out Los Arcos and Islas Marietas and deep sea fishing is also popular here year-round.  For those who prefer drier activities, horse riding, golf, tennis and jungle tours are also available.
