It's common sense to respect the culture of whom you are a guest.  To disrespect another's culture is to disrespect their family and beliefs - as we strive for universal acceptance, there will always be the stubborn few who refuse to accept equality. 

In the many gay clubs and communities of Mexico,there is no end to the freedom when showing affection to the one you love (or like). 

Sensible restraint when traveling through Mexico (eg: no kissing, holding hands) is recommended.

Don't expect open-minded people in little towns where you don't see many tourists. Use your common sense and be discreet. You will find that most Mexicans are fine regarding gay people.

Follow the same precautions (regarding meeting people) that you have at home.
